The announcement came four days after Anaya was arrested for public intoxication at the restaurant around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Fortuna Police Lt. Jason Kadle. A former waitress publicly alleged physical assault during the incident, and three employees confirmed Anaya drank heavily on the job; Anaya denied the closure was connected to the arrest, attributing her condition to recent family deaths. The closure eliminates a long-standing dining establishment in Fortuna.
