Severe Flooding Prompts Evacuations in Four Corners Region Friday
Severe flooding in the Four Corners region on Friday led to rescues, including rooftop extractions, and impassable roads across Colorado and New Mexico. Approximately 600 households in Farmington, New Mexico, were ordered to evacuate along the San Juan River, while residents of the Navajo Nation braced for rising floodwaters. In southern Colorado, rainfall exceeded forecasts, causing unprecedented water levels on the San Juan River and prompting disaster emergency declarations in 11 counties by Governor Jared Polis. Authorities warned that conditions could worsen with additional rain forecast for the weekend.
