New Mexico Judge Dismisses Timothy Busfield Child Abuse Indictment Citing Prosecutorial Misconduct
Bernalillo County, New Mexico Second Judicial District Judge Joseph Montano dismissed a child sexual abuse indictment against actor and B Street Theatre co-founder Timothy Busfield, citing prosecutorial misconduct and errors in the grand jury process. Busfield's attorneys alleged prosecutors pursued the case despite insufficient evidence and withheld witness testimony from grand jurors. The charges—two counts of sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse—stemmed from allegations by the mother of twin boys who appeared on the TV series 'The Cleaning Lady,' filmed in Albuquerque, covering November 2022 through spring 2024. Busfield, 68, denied the allegations, calling them 'horrible lies' made in retaliation. The Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office said it is evaluating options on how to proceed.
