The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to approve a roughly $450,000 developer fee transfer reimbursing the El Dorado Hills Fire Department for equipment purchases. The funding covers a custom-built Pierce aerial truck and two emergency response SUVs serving approximately 51,500 residents across five stations. The reimbursement follows a $5.2 million settlement of a 2015 lawsuit alleging violations of the state's Mitigation Fee Act, which depleted the district's developer fee fund from over $11.5 million to empty. A March 2026 nexus study reduced the share of equipment costs coverable by developer fees from 26.5% to 21.5%.
