DU Professor Found Responsible for Sexual Harassment Remains Employed
The University of Denver's Office of Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity found tenured philosophy professor Marco Nathan responsible for hostile-environment sexual harassment of a graduate student, according to investigation documents provided to The Denver Post. The former student reported her experience in July 2024; the investigation concluded in November 2024, Nathan appealed in January, and the university upheld its findings in February. DU confirmed Nathan remains employed as a part-time off-campus worker with no student interactions, citing federal privacy laws regarding specific case details. Nathan denied sexual conduct in his appeal, stating he and the former student engaged in 'sophomoric silliness' but nothing sexual.
