Davis's winter homeless services: five reserved Fourth & Hope beds, a tentative Dec. 7 shelter season and outcome reports available on request

Davis has agreed to pay Fourth & Hope $109,500 a year to reserve five beds at its Woodland-area shelter for city referrals, under an agreement that requires monthly utilization and outcome summaries only when the city requests them. The city's seasonal winter shelter is tentatively set to run Dec. 7 to March 31 with four budgeted motel rooms, fewer than in past years. Council members asked for numbers on how much last winter's beds were used and backed the city manager's effort to find another $50,000 for more motel capacity, with the funding source still undecided.

A city official said at a June 16 council meeting that ticketed train riders would keep free depot parking tags; whether that still applies could not be confirmed. The council chose $1 over staff's proposed $3 and asked for occupancy studies before any increase. On-street parking, about half the downtown surface lots and the first three hours in the F Street garage stay free.
