Wyoming Labor Market Improved in Q2 2026; Taxable Sales Rose 9.6%
Wyoming's labor market showed moderate improvement in the second quarter of 2026, with a decrease in unemployment and an increase in job numbers, according to the Wyoming Division of Economic Analysis. Private education and health services led employment growth at 2.5%, while mining lost 2.5% of its workforce. Total taxable sales rose 9.6% year-over-year to $6.4 billion, with 15 of 23 counties reporting increases; Converse County led at 44.2%. Statewide single-family home prices increased 3.2%, and mineral severance taxes generated 18.6% more than the prior year, reaching their highest level since Q4 2023.
