Bauer-Kahan and Rubay Face Off in Nov. 3 State Assembly Race
Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (D-Orinda) and real estate appraiser Joe Rubay (R-Alamo) are competing for the state Assembly seat representing Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda and Walnut Creek in the Nov. 3 general election. Both advanced from a three-candidate primary under California's top-two system, marking their fourth contest since 2020. Bauer-Kahan highlights legislative achievements including gun safety measures, Valley Link Rail Project support, data center energy disclosure requirements, and elimination of the pink tax. Rubay emphasizes public safety priorities including funding Proposition 36 implementation, opposing AB 2047's 3D-printer firearm-blocking mandate, restoring school bus service, and rolling back state housing mandates.
