Caltrans will hold a public town hall meeting Thursday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. at the Colusa Scout Cabin, 901 Parkhill St., to discuss proposed removal and replacement of elm trees along 10th Street in Colusa. Caltrans previously proposed removing 43 American elm trees along 10th and Market streets, citing condition and public safety concerns. At the Oct. 6 City Council meeting, independent arborist Gordon Mann presented a community-commissioned assessment identifying two trees requiring removal while stating most could remain with proper pruning and maintenance.
