Shooting Near Columbus Mosque Kills One; Police Say Not Connected to House of Worship
A shooting in the parking lot of an apartment complex next to a mosque northeast of downtown Columbus, Ohio, killed one person Monday, police said. Local and federal authorities, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, responded to the scene. Sgt. James Fuqua clarified that an event was underway inside the mosque at the time but had nothing to do with the shooting outside. The ATF did not immediately respond to a request for further information.
