Three Men Charged in Sullivan's Island Sexual Assault Case Raised by Rep. Mace
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged John Osborne of Charleston, Eric Bowman of Sullivan's Island, and Patrick Bryant—former fiancé of U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace—with sexual-related offenses stemming from an Oct. 26, 2018 incident at a Sullivan's Island residence. According to warrants, a 23-year-old woman was too intoxicated to consent when Osborne allegedly sexually assaulted her while Bowman and Bryant watched; Bowman also faces obstruction-of-justice charges after a phone under review was factory-reset in March 2025. All three were taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center in Charleston County, and the case will be prosecuted by the 9th Circuit Solicitor's Office. A fourth man Mace named in a February 2025 House floor speech was not charged; his lawsuit against her was dismissed.
