Man Sentenced to Up to 8 Years for State College Home Invasion
Braxdyn L. Landrum, 26, of Blair County, Pennsylvania, was sentenced Tuesday by Centre County Judge Julia Rater to a minimum of two years and a maximum of eight years in state prison for a felony robbery charge tied to a February home invasion on Crabapple Drive in State College's Greentree neighborhood. Landrum, who had previously cleaned the family's home, waited in ankle-deep snow until about 2 a.m. before shattering a sliding glass door and confronting the 74-year-old homeowner, leading to a physical altercation with the man and his son. The homeowner suffered lacerations and a concussion that affected his work as a physician assistant; one injury was believed caused by a sledgehammer Landrum brought. Landrum pleaded no contest to felony robbery while eight other charges were dropped, and he was ordered to pay $13,450 in restitution. Judge Rater extended the sentence beyond what the defense requested, citing the breach of trust and lasting harm to the family.
