Hunters Find Injured Woman in Cass County ND; Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder
Two residents checking hunting cameras near County Road 81 along the Wild Rice River in Cass County, North Dakota, found a badly injured 28-year-old woman on Tuesday and called 911. Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner said the woman had multiple severe cuts to her neck and told medical personnel she had been attacked with a knife. Investigators identified suspect Tracy Vaughn Peters, 60, who was arrested Wednesday by Cass County authorities and the U.S. Marshals Task Force and booked into Cass County Jail on an attempted murder charge. The case remains open as deputies search for the alleged weapon.
