Escaped Tennessee Murder Convict Recaptured in Carroll County, Missouri
Jacob Morley, a 28-year-old serving a life sentence for first-degree murder, was recaptured Tuesday near Kansas City, Missouri after more than a week on the run. Morley escaped from Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee on Oct. 25 by slipping through a fence. He was tracked via automated license plate readers and a helicopter to Carroll County, northwest Missouri, where his stolen flatbed truck got stuck in mud after he drove off the road. Two rifles and a shotgun were recovered from the vehicle, which authorities suspect was stolen from a farm near Marion, Illinois. Morley was compliant during arrest, ending the multi-state manhunt.
