Wildwood Commissioners Discuss Proposed Food Truck Restrictions Ordinance
Wildwood commissioners reviewed a proposed food truck ordinance at a Monday workshop meeting, discussing tighter regulations on downtown operations. The proposal would grandfather in trucks licensed for at least 10 years while banning new vendors from downtown areas, prohibiting alcohol sales outside special events, and limiting each vendor to a single parking space without interfering with traffic. Trucks could operate on private property in commercial, industrial, or planned-development zones, with exemptions for special events, self-contained ice cream trucks, and workplace lunch vehicles. The $50 permit fee, state licensing, insurance, and county health department waste-disposal review would remain required. Mayor Ed Wolf said more community input is needed before the ordinance advances.
