Federal Judge Reviews DOJ Conduct in Dismissed Broadview Six Case
One year after the indictment of six activists known as the 'Broadview Six,' U.S. District Judge April Perry is investigating potential misconduct by federal prosecutors in the dismissed case. The charges stemmed from a September 2025 protest outside an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, where protesters allegedly impeded an immigration agent's vehicle. Although all charges were dismissed in May following allegations of grand jury irregularities, Judge Perry has set an October 30 deadline for prosecutors to disclose internal communications regarding Justice Department involvement. Former defendants Michael Rabbitt and Brian Straw recently gathered at the protest site to mark the anniversary of their arrests.
