Albuquerque Judge Dismisses Actor Timothy Busfield Charges Citing Prosecutorial Misconduct
State District Judge Joseph Montano dismissed a grand jury indictment against actor Timothy Busfield, who had been accused of criminal sexual contact with two minors on the set of the TV series "The Cleaning Lady" in Albuquerque. The judge cited prosecutorial misconduct and errors that undermined the grand jury process, including prosecutors allegedly blocking witnesses from testifying. Bernalillo County District Attorney Greer Staley countered that the defense failed to follow proper procedures for submitting evidence to the grand jury. Busfield has denied all allegations, calling them lies motivated by revenge after the children lost roles on the show. Prosecutors had not yet decided whether to pursue another indictment as of Friday.
