Youth Sports Coach Sentenced to 26 Years for Assaulting 12-Year-Old Girl
Aydan Trueblood was sentenced Wednesday in Peoria County to 26 years in prison after pleading guilty in August to predatory criminal sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl he coached. Assistant State's Attorney Dave Gast argued for the 30-year maximum permitted under the plea agreement, while Chief Judge Katherine Gorman acknowledged Trueblood's lack of criminal history before imposing the sentence. Bartonville Police received a tip on Nov. 9 that Trueblood had behaved inappropriately with the victim; according to the state's attorney's office, the victim said she communicated with him on Snapchat and snuck out to meet him. Trueblood admitted to the assault and to sending her explicit photos.
