Plymouth Council Approves Additional Audit Costs, Addresses Main Street Vacancies
At its Thursday, October 22 meeting, the Plymouth City Council approved a change order adding up to $15,000 to the fiscal year 2021-2022 audit and a $45,000 contract for the 2022-2023 audit with The Pun Group LLP. City Manager Cameron Begbie reported approximately a year and a half of no communication between the auditing firm and past city administration, causing delays in receiving supporting documentation. Council members expressed frustration but voted to move forward, with Mayor Don Nunn stating the city needs to get on track. In other business, council members discussed vacant Main Street buildings and directed staff to shorten a draft outreach letter to property owners encouraging cooperation in downtown revitalization.
