Democrat Stevens Announces Vote for Republican Rogers in Michigan Senate Race
On Sunday, Nov. 1, U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens (D) announced at Perfecting Church in Detroit that she would vote for Republican Mike Rogers over Democrat Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat, just two days before Election Day. Stevens said El-Sayed had told her she was not welcome on his campaign trail and cited disagreements over a Rebellion PAC advertisement about Israel. Stevens' chief of staff Justin German resigned following the announcement. El-Sayed dismissed the endorsement as a distraction at a separate campaign event, while Rogers said he was honored by Stevens' support.
