Trump Announces Nov. 15 Closure of East Potomac Golf Course Amid Court Challenge
President Trump announced on social media Sunday his intent to close the 106-year-old East Potomac Golf Course in Washington, D.C., starting Nov. 15 for a 15-month renovation, despite a federal judge's order halting redevelopment until at least Oct. 26. The course, part of a national park and recreation facility open to residents of all income levels, is the subject of a lawsuit by the DC Preservation League and two golfers opposing plans they say will make it less affordable. U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes ordered the government to update her on its position by 8 p.m. EDT Sunday and scheduled hearings Monday addressing both the renovation and the administration's request to remove her from the case.
