Defense Seeks 2029 Trial Date in Charlie Kirk Killing Case
Defense attorneys for Tyler Robinson, accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University, proposed a 2029 trial date citing the complexity of the death-penalty case. Prosecutors from Utah County anticipated a 17-week trial and proposed starting January 31, 2028, while Erika Kirk's attorney pushed for October 2027. Utah District Court Judge Tony Graf scheduled a Friday hearing to set the trial date. Robinson pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder in last year's killing and could face the death penalty if convicted.
