Santee-Based Trucking Executive Pleads Guilty to $2.1M Credit Fraud Scheme
Hasan Korkmaz, 45, of Las Vegas and owner of Santee-based San Diego Logistics Group Inc., pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to an 18-count indictment covering bank fraud, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft. Prosecutors say Korkmaz used stolen personal information to open fraudulent credit card accounts throughout 2022 and 2023, running charges through his Santee business and causing over $2.1 million in losses across two banks affecting nearly 100 victims. He laundered proceeds to a bank account in Türkiye before fleeing the U.S. for 18 months; federal agents arrested him in June 2025. U.S. District Judge James E. Simmons Jr. scheduled sentencing for Jan. 8, 2027, at 9 a.m.
