San Jose City Council to Vote Tuesday on Plaza de César Chávez Renaming
The San Jose City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on renaming Plaza de César Chávez in downtown San Jose. The Parks and Recreation Commission recommended changing the name to "Plaza del Pueblo de San Jose," a combination of two popular community submissions. This decision follows sexual abuse allegations against the late Cesar Chavez, which prompted the city to begin the renaming process.
