Federal Worker Charged with Fraud Over Hanford Relocation Bonus
Tamara Moland, a former Department of Labor employee hired by the DOE at the Hanford nuclear site in Richland, Washington, has pleaded not guilty to federal fraud and theft charges. Prosecutors allege Moland submitted fake rental agreements to secure a $30,000 relocation bonus intended for employees establishing residency in the Tri-Cities area. The alleged scheme involved emails signed "Love, Mom" requesting fabricated leases from her child. Moland faces up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud and 10 years for theft of government money.
