Polk County leadership has reached a tentative three-year collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of EMTs and Paramedics (I.A.E.P.), adding a fourth D-shift that reduces the work week from 48 to 42 hours under a 24-on/72-off schedule. The deal also includes a one-step pay increase, matching the D-shift structure already used by county firefighters. The agreement, if ratified by union members and the Board of County Commissioners, would remain in effect through Sept. 30, 2029.
