Lindsay Clancy Seeks Dismissal of Murder Charges in Plymouth Court
Lindsay Clancy's defense team urged a Plymouth, Massachusetts judge on Monday to dismiss murder charges against her or schedule a retrial after her first trial ended in a mistrial with an 11-1 jury deadlock favoring acquittal. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington argued double jeopardy grounds based on the judge's handling of the lone holdout juror during deliberations. Judge William Sullivan did not rule immediately but scheduled another hearing for Nov. 16 and suggested a retrial could begin in March. Prosecutors said they intend to retry Clancy if the case proceeds, while acknowledging her mental health issues but maintaining she acted deliberately when she killed her three young children in 2023.
