Speaker Johnson Campaigns for LePage in Maine's 2nd District House Race Ahead of Nov. 3 Election
House Speaker Mike Johnson held a campaign event Wednesday at Sea Dog Brewing Co. in Bangor, Maine, supporting Republican candidate Paul LePage, the two-term former governor running for the open U.S. House seat in Maine's 2nd Congressional District. LePage faces Democratic state auditor Matt Dunlap in the race to replace retiring Rep. Jared Golden, a Blue Dog Democrat who held the district despite Trump winning it previously. The two candidates are set to debate this week ahead of the Nov. 3 election. The Congressional Leadership Fund recently canceled spending in four House races including Iowa and New Jersey while increasing investment in others.
