Man Indicted on Child Porn Charges Dies in Pasco Police Shooting Wednesday
Christopher H. Derrick, 47, of Pasco, Washington, died Wednesday after a confrontation with police near Argent Road and Road 103. Derrick had been indicted Oct. 7 on federal charges of receipt and possession of child pornography involving children under age 12. A Richland officer stopped him around 5:52 a.m. while the Southeast Regional Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce was serving warrants in the area. Dispatch reports indicated Derrick pulled a gun during the stop; he died at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. The officer who fired shots has been placed on paid administrative leave.
