Oklahoma City Man Charged With Mailing Threatening Letters to Election Officials

Robin Martin, 67, of Oklahoma City was arrested Monday and appeared Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City on charges of conveying a hoax and mailing threatening communications. Federal authorities allege Martin sent more than 700 letters containing nonhazardous white powder—yeast or flour—with warnings about treason to election officials, members of Congress, pollsters, news media, and federal law enforcement ahead of the 2024 and 2026 elections. The mailings prompted evacuations of election offices in Louisiana and Oklahoma, with letters received or intercepted in states from Idaho to Florida. FBI investigators cited video evidence of Martin's vehicle at Postal Service sites in Oklahoma City, Dallas, and San Antonio, along with fingerprints on a letter addressed to FBI Director Kash Patel.
