Ojeda Projected to Unseat Hudson in NC-09 Congressional Race
Democrat Richard Ojeda is projected to defeat incumbent Republican Richard Hudson in North Carolina's 9th Congressional District race, leading 51.40% to 48.60% with 116 of 169 precincts reporting. The district encompasses Alamance, Hoke, Moore and Randolph counties plus portions of Chatham, Cumberland and Guilford counties. Ojeda, a retired Army major and former West Virginia state senator, carried 78.7% of the vote in the 13 of 28 Cumberland County precincts reported. Hudson had served in the U.S. House since 2013.
