US Citizen Alleges ICE Agents Aimed Guns at Him in Charlotte
Atilio Portillo, a US citizen and small business owner in Charlotte, alleged that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents smashed his truck windows and aimed guns at his head during a detention on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of Idlewild Road and Idlebrook Drive while agents were targeting Portillo's brother, who was also in the vehicle. ICE confirmed they detained the brother for removal proceedings due to illegal entry and criminal history but stated officers used minimum force necessary. Portillo stated he was held for thirty minutes despite identifying himself as a citizen and is considering legal action.
