Viral Door-Kicking Challenge Reported in Hawaii Neighborhoods
Hawaii residents report that a viral social media trend involving teens kicking or banging on residential doors at night has affected neighborhoods including Maui Lani and Ewa Beach. Authorities describe the behavior as teenagers running up to random front doors late at night, delivering heavy kicks to simulate a home invasion before fleeing. One Maui Lani homeowner said he spent nearly $14,000 repairing damage after multiple incidents over several months and filed police reports. An Ewa Beach resident reported her door was kicked about five times around 9 p.m., shaking the house. Residents are urging parents to talk with children about respecting neighbors' property.
