Suspect Confesses to Killing Oberlin College Professor, Wife
Prosecutors say Asia Nguyen-Duy, 31, of Ashland, Oregon, confessed on video to a stranger after shooting and killing Pipo Nguyen-Duy, 64, a longtime studio art professor at Oberlin College, and his wife Thi Tran Phong, 56, inside their Ohio home. Police found a modified vehicle registered to Nguyen-Duy in an Oberlin College parking lot containing loose ammunition before locating the suspect nearby. Nguyen-Duy appeared in court Thursday facing six counts of murder, four counts of felonious assault, and one count of tampering with evidence; bond was set at $3 million and the case bound over to county common pleas court.
