The Lake County Board of Supervisors is asking the public to help name the former Lake County Courthouse at 255 N. Forbes St. in Lakeport, after California's Superior Court system moved out of the building that had carried that name since opening in 1968. All remaining offices in the building are operated by Lake County. Several names were recommended at the Oct. 6 Board meeting; residents can vote on a recommendation or submit their own suggestion via an online survey open until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.
