Lakeport Council Makes Four-Way Stop at 11th and Forbes Permanent
The Lakeport City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday, Oct. 20, to make a four-way stop at the intersection of 11th and Forbes streets permanent. The decision followed a two-month pilot program that city officials said successfully reduced crashes at the location, which had been the city's highest-crash intersection. Public Works Director Ron Ladd reported that traffic cleared quickly during the test period, alleviating concerns about backups onto Main Street. City staff will now implement interim pavement markings and signage while pursuing grant funding for larger corridor improvements.
