Lakeport Council Considers Permanent Four-Way Stop Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m.

The Lakeport City Council will meet Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 225 Park St., to consider making permanent a four-way stop pilot project at the intersection of Forbes and 11th streets, which began Aug. 19. Public Works Director Ron Ladd reports that staff monitoring found traffic continues to operate effectively with the stop in place, including during peak school and commute periods, with no anticipated queuing back to Main Street observed. If approved, interim enhancements such as pavement markings, "4-WAY" supplemental plaques, and advance warning signage will be added until permanent improvements are incorporated into a larger Highway Safety Improvement Program project for the corridor. The agenda also includes an Air Quality Management District report, support for the Revitalize Rural America Act, consultant term extensions, and event applications for the Dickens Fair, Christmas Trees on Main Street, Halloween Parade, and Clear Lake High School Homecoming Parade.
