Henrico County Removes Flock Cameras Over Privacy Concerns
Henrico County crews removed more than 120 Flock automatic license plate reader cameras on Saturday after the vendor failed to meet contractual removal obligations. The county ended its contract with Flock in mid-October due to privacy and data-access concerns raised by residents, police, and experts. Officials stated there was no evidence of misuse by Henrico police but acted proactively amid national debates on surveillance technology. Poles holding the cameras remain in place, with their removal being Flock's responsibility.
