Off-Duty ICE Agent Charged After Homeowner Shot Him in Fresno Tower District

David Gonzalez III, an off-duty ICE agent from Texas, was arrested Oct. 9 after being found unconscious on the front lawn of a home near Dudley Avenue and Broadway Street in Fresno's Tower District. Gonzalez pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony assault, causing injury to an elder adult, vandalism, and misdemeanor battery, and was released on $37,000 bail to return to Texas. His next court appearance is set for Jan. 14, 2027.
