18-Year-Old Charged in Hate-Motivated Attack at Ellisville Park
An 18-year-old suspect, Abdulwareth A. Alahmad, was charged with first-degree assault and property damage motivated by discrimination following an alleged hate-motivated attack at Bluebird Park in Ellisville, Mo., around 2:20 a.m. on Oct. 21, according to authorities. Police say the victim met the suspect through a dating app believing he was meeting someone named 'Adam,' after which Alahmad allegedly told him he hated gay people before four men emerged from bushes and attacked him. The victim sustained punches and kicks to the head and torso, dropped his iPhone 16 during the assault, and drove to the Ellisville Police Department. Detectives say surveillance video and Flock cameras captured Alahmad leaving the park, and the victim identified him in a photo lineup.
