Senate Candidate El-Sayed Rallies at Northern Michigan University in Marquette
Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed held a rally on the campus of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, capping a multi-stop tour across Michigan's Upper Peninsula aimed at reaching conservative voters. Republican state representative Karl Bohnak, backing GOP candidate Mike Rogers, said he does not pay much attention to El-Sayed and questioned his healthcare proposals. The article highlights UP healthcare access challenges, noting many residents drive 100 miles or more to see specialists, with nearly one in three enrolled in Medicare and 7% uninsured. Former U.S. Representative Bart Stupak endorsed El-Sayed's outreach strategy but expressed hesitancy about some of his positions.
