PBSO Deputy Fatally Shoots Robbery Suspect in Boynton Beach Oct. 13
A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy fatally shot a 54-year-old man on Jog Road south of Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach on Tuesday, Oct. 13, after a pursuit that began with a pizza delivery robbery in Lake Worth Beach the previous night, PBSO said. The suspect allegedly knelt behind concrete pillars and assumed what the agency described as a firing stance before the deputy fired; the advisory does not confirm whether he was armed or if a weapon was recovered. FDLE, the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office, and PBSO's Violent Crimes Division are investigating, and the unidentified deputy has been placed on administrative leave. PBSO said the man had a criminal history including carjacking, robbery, kidnapping, and assault. This is the third fatal PBSO deputy-involved shooting reported in the area since early August.
