Game and Fish Seeks Tips on Three Poached Bull Elk Near Hyattville
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking public information about three bull elk illegally shot and left to waste northeast of Hyattville. Two carcasses were discovered Oct. 15 within 200 yards of each other, approximately three-fourths of a mile south of Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site; a third was found the following day. Wardens estimate the animals were killed between Oct. 3 and Oct. 10, before hunting season opened, with no meat, head or antlers taken. Residents who observed suspicious activity or vehicles in the area during that timeframe can call the Stop Poaching Hotline at 1-877-WGFD-TIP, text TIP411 with keyword WGFD, or contact Greybull Game Warden Daniel Tisi at (307) 899-1269. Anonymous reporters may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 through the Wyoming Wildlife Peace Officer Association.
