Michigan Senate Race Draws High Turnout in Berrien County Nov. 3
Voters across southwestern Michigan turned out throughout Election Day, November 3, for the U.S. Senate race between Democrat Abdul El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers. In New Buffalo, City Clerk Amy Fidler said the election was on pace to surpass turnout from the 2022 midterms, and officials hoped to tabulate all ballots within 90 minutes of polls closing. The contest, triggered by Sen. Gary Peters' retirement, drew over $100 million in advertising since the August 4 primary. Voters cited the economy, healthcare, gas prices, and housing costs as top issues.
