AOC Rallies ~800 in Bakersfield for Villegas Ahead of Nov. 3 Election
Nearly 800 people attended a rally at the Nile Theater in Bakersfield on Friday night, Oct. 23, where Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) urged support for Democratic congressional candidate Randy Villegas. Villegas is challenging Republican incumbent David Valadao in California's 22nd Congressional District. Speakers addressed immigration enforcement, health care, cost of living, and campaign financing, while a small group across the street voiced support for ICE operations. Ocasio-Cortez noted this was her second Kern County visit in about a year. Election Day is set for November 3.
