Valkyries, Dream Meet for First WNBA Finals Game 7 Saturday Night in San Francisco
The Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream will play the first Game 7 in WNBA Finals history at "Ballhalla" in San Francisco on Saturday night. The series is tied after Atlanta won Game 6, 80-69, on Thursday at State Farm Arena, where the Dream scored 32 points in the first quarter and held double-digit leads most of the game. Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase said her team failed to match Atlanta's defensive intensity early and planned conversations with players before the decisive game. Allisha Gray scored 23 points and Rhyne Howard added 21 for Atlanta, while Angel Reese recorded 15 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams are seeking their first WNBA championship; the Valkyries reached the Finals in only their second season.
