Arvin Markets Offer Free Grocery Delivery Amid Immigration Enforcement Activity
La Plazita Market Carniceria (156 Bear Mountain Blvd) and La Familia Market and Bin Store (924 Haven Dr) in Arvin, CA are offering free grocery delivery to residents who are afraid to leave their homes following recent ICE activity in the community. At least one person was detained by ICE at the Bear Mountain Car Wash the prior week, after which foot traffic at local stores dropped sharply. La Familia's free weekend delivery began after seeing La Plazita's response, according to employee Maribel Lopez. La Raza Market (201 Bear Mountain Blvd) is also listed as offering deliveries.
