Collins Campaigns with Manchin in Lewiston Ahead of Nov. 3 Election
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, appeared Wednesday with former West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin at Simones' Hot Dog Stand in Lewiston and a New Balance facility in Norway to highlight their bipartisan record as she seeks her sixth term. Collins faces Democrat Troy Jackson, a former state Senate president who trails her in fundraising but has raised over $20 million this quarter. Jackson is scheduled to campaign Thursday in Portland with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The race centers on whether Collins' independence from President Trump is sufficient for voters in a state that has grown bluer since she last faced a midterm reelection in 2002.
